Olives & Plates Hyde Park: Farm to table … and table to soul

Amid concrete, skyscrapers and the Gautrain, the harvest table at the new Olives & Plates Hyde Park proves that people crave the flavour and nutrients of natural ingredients – even if there isn’t a farm in sight.

With the owners being Greek, you can bet that they understand freshness and flavours – you’d be pressed to find a salad with more finely cut vegetables and twists and turns in its plating! At lunchtime every Monday to Friday, you can fill up on the weigh-and-pay offering, which boasts a beautiful spread of eats made with the freshest ingredients and an abundance of herbs. Theres also a standard menu that includes all the now Olives & Plates classics, from the oak-smoked salmon benedict and organic açaí bowl, to the chicken Caesar salad and sage and supreme chicken fillet.

Side note … we’re equally obsessed with the Insta-worthy space that was previously home to EB Social Kitchen & Bar, which has been refreshed with crystal chandeliers plus splashes of soft pink and powder blue.
